Is ProBackup SOC 2 and GDPR compliant?
Yes. ProBackup is SOC 2 Type II certified as of May 2025. Audit reports are available on request through our Trust Center. We are also GDPR compliant, with all data stored in AWS across 9 regions. ProBackup pre-selects the region closest to you during onboarding and you can choose a different one before your first backup runs; afterwards, support can move it on request.
How is data encrypted and stored?
All backups are encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS in transit, and stored in AWS S3 in the region you select during onboarding (9 regions; the closest region is pre-selected, so most EU customers land on Dublin eu-west-1 and German customers on Frankfurt eu-central-1). Each customer's data is logically isolated. Two-factor authentication is available on all plans; SAML-based SSO is included on Premium.
Can I control which users see which data?
Yes. Admins invite team members with per-platform permissions covering visibility scope (all data vs. only data the user can access in the source platform) and access level (View / Export / Restore). Premium adds advanced scope control to exclude specific workspaces, boards, or projects from the backup scope entirely.
How does ProBackup handle a ransomware or mass-deletion event?
Snapshots are immutable and stored independently of the source SaaS platform, so an attacker who compromises your Asana or HubSpot account cannot reach your backups. Smart alerts notify admins automatically when unusual deletion volumes or suspicious activity are detected, and granular one-click restore lets you recover affected records, files, or entire projects without rolling back unaffected work.
